Samples of My Work

Title: Convertible Problem Solving
This work was inspired by a scene in my script where Candis Green (a famously bad driver) uses another characters car to run into a group of monsters. I wanted to capture the sense of movement, chaos, and thrill that came with the moment.

Title: Fun Sized
Fun Sized was inspired by the nostalgia of paper airplanes. In this piece, I imagined my character, Candis Green, using her magical shrinking candy to take to the skies. I wanted to capture her fun-loving, larger-than-life attitude through a childhood staple; the paper airplane.

Title: Masterpieces
Inspiration to create this art came from Fetcher's arc of finding himself. Fetcher's symbolism often comes from shards of things and broken glass, so I applied those concepts to a marble bust. Because the colors of this image were very simple I wanted to explore dramatic texture and lighting.

Title: Candyland Sunrise
Envy smith is a very influential figure in her hometown. I wanted to explore her influence from the perspective of social media. Because that was my goal, I wanted a very dramatically lit image that felt filtered and curated. To achieve this, I put a lot of effort into making the background recede and enhance the character with a strong rim light.

Title: Spoiled
The worm in this image is a character often seen with fetcher or other people. I wanted to imagine his life before those comforts. to do this I wanted a monochromatic setting with lots of movement. I tried to enhance the feelings of chaos by putting the worm in a still empty space under sturdy yet exposed rock to contrast the surrounding environment.

Title: Granny’s Chair
Granny’s Chair was an environment study of the Smith house living room. I wanted this space to feel reflective of the family Matriarch Gertrude Smith (A character inspired by Granny Smith apples). For this setting i considered the apples for color, the environmental context of Candyland, and things that would reside in the home of a practical woman who puts family first.
